BELCO is seeking a Specialist Cable Jointer to join our Transmission, Distribution & Retail team. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out duties that encompass a wide range of transmission and distribution work at voltages up to and including 34.5kV. Key Responsibilities include the installation, termination and jointing of power utility equipment, periodic inspections, troubleshooting, and offering guidance/on-the-job training to lower grades.
Requirements
High School leaving certificate or equivalent; Technical Qualification such as BTEC, NVQ Level 4, City and Guilds (Part 1), ONC or the equivalent; Minimum of four (4) year apprenticeship training or equivalent work experience; In-depth knowledge of cable jointing up to 34,500 volts; First-Aid certified; Excellent physical condition with ability to climb and work in confined spaces; Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
