Our client, Arch Reinsurance Ltd. (Bermuda) provides specialty property, casualty and life reinsurance products through reinsurance intermediaries worldwide. These programs range from Property Catastrophe and Property Excess of Loss reinsurance to Professional Liability and Marine Treaties. Arch Re's Bermuda-based operation has a strong, proven management team, a commitment to underwriting discipline, and financial strength that is rated A (Excellent) by A.M. Best and A+ by S&P. Reporting to the SVP, Controller Operations, the successful candidate will be a senior member on a small team providing superior service to our clients. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and manage a team of insurance accountants. Prepare all financial reporting for the company and its various divisions. Manage outward reinsurance agreements and related reporting requirements and maintenance of third-party financial records, ensuring accurate calculation and administration of complex reinsurance arrangements. • Provide information on regulatory industry requirements and ensure compliance. Liaise between management, finance, claims, actuaries, legal, compliance and investor relations for all portfolio specific activity and issues, ensuring cross communication of critical information between all functional departments. • Collaborate with reinsurance operations and international affiliates to continually develop and enhance reporting capabilities and more efficient business processes. • Prepare consolidated management information for the company and subsidiaries. • Monitor foreign currency exposure and corporate expenses. • Assist with the preparation of annual and quarterly underwriting and operational budgets. • Mentor and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team. • Participate in systems enhancements including defining scope, developing and executing test plans. Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Bachelor's degree coupled with a professional accounting designation (e.g. CA, ACCA, CPA). • Minimum of 10 years' post qualification experience, with at least 8 years in reinsurance. • Experience in the calculation and management of complex reinsurance arrangements. • Experience in group financial reporting (consolidation, eliminations, etc.). • Detailed understanding of risk transfer concepts and a thorough grasp on insurance and reinsurance agreements. Strong financial reporting and analytical skills, as well as the ability to effectively communicate analytical findings. • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications with advanced Excel and Access database skills; Power BI; W Desk; and SQL (data warehouse). • Proven ability to effectively coach, cross train and motivate employees, with an emphasis on continuous process improvement.

Requirements
