Our client, Cedar Trace Advisers Limited, is looking for an Pricing Actuary - Casualty Reinsurance who will be responsible for supporting pricing, analysis, and evaluation of mainly casualty reinsurance treaties and facultative business. It will also involve working with Property and Specialty lines of business as well. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Actuary, have an active role in the ongoing development and management of the pricing process, and will work closely with Underwriters to assess risk, develop pricing assumptions and provide actuarial insight to support profitable portfolio growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Performing reinsurance treaty pricing analysis for US and International Casualty Reinsurance.
• Pricing analysis for other classes as needed (E.g. Specialty and Property reinsurance).
• Developing, enhancing and maintaining actuarial models.
• Industry and market benchmarking analyses.
• Managing the casualty database and pricing assumptions.
• Involvement in a wide variety of actuarial projects principally in pricing to improve workflow, data capture and refine existing / create new methodologies.
• Assisting the actuarial/finance team with reserving/reporting tasks as needed.
• Presenting and discussing analysis with underwriters and management.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
• University (bachelor's or higher) degree in Actuarial science, Mathematics, Economics or similar field.
• Preferably has the FIA / FCAS or at least AIA/ACAS designation.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience in Property/Casualty Reinsurance, specifically pricing US and International Casualty Reinsurance.
• Proficient in MS Office (particularly Excel and Access) to an advanced level.
• Good working knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA or R.
• Experience with data visualisation tools like Power BI.
• Thorough knowledge of actuarial pricing techniques and methods, particularly for Casualty reinsurance pricing.
• Ability and experience to create and improve pricing models/tools, create reports, query data etc.
• Able to prioritize/organize workload and time dependent output.
• Possessing excellent interpersonal/communication skills to work closely and collaboratively with key colleagues in underwriting, risk and finance, as well as external brokers and consultants.
