Senior Reinsurance Actuary

Our client, AIA Reinsurance Limited ("AIA Re"), is currently seeking candidates for the position of Senior Reinsurance Actuary to join the team. This pivotal role is based in Bermuda, oversees the actuarial function and serve on the AIA Re Executive committee, contributing significantly to the development and execution of the company's strategic initiatives in alignment with its mission. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the effective and efficient functioning of the actuarial function, working in collaboration with colleagues across various disciplines and jurisdictions Serve on the AIA Re Executive Committee and provide meaningful contribution to the Strategic Plan, including specification of annual objectives to meet the Company's mission Responsible for delivery of executive level actuarial reports for presentation to the AIA Re Board of Directors and supporting Committee(s) Lead the end-to-end transactional underwriting process, including deal structuring, financial analytics, due diligence, transfer pricing reviews, pro-forma capital computations and risk transfer analysis Negotiate transactions on behalf of AIA Re Conduct treaty performance analysis and utilize findings to refine underwriting techniques Enhance efficiency through automation. Continually evaluate use of technology to enable more effective processes, including the claims management and reinsurance administrative function Automate and document actuarial models Deliver on actuarial first line risk management responsibilities, including ongoing development of the actuarial control framework, risk assessments/registers, stress testing review and continual integration of risk management across all actuarial processes (including specification of KRIs and Exposure Aggregation Reports) Maintain Business Process Manuals and comply with all internal policies and regulatory requirements pertaining to the role. Support the corporate actuarial team in the development of the ALM framework (including use of derivatives for hedging purposes), Capital Management Plan, Embedded Value movement analysis Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: Qualified Actuary with strong business and commercial awareness At least 8 years of experience in actuarial role ideally in life insurance Fellowship member of an internationally recognized actuarial professional body (FSA, SOA etc) Proven experience in IFRS 17 Knowledge of insurance products, reinsurance, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GAAP, Solvency II, etc) Programming experience in R, VBA, SQL, or similar tools Familiarity with actuarial modeling platforms (e.g., Risk Agility or equivalent) Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
