The Medical Laboratory Technician plays a pivotal role in providing efficient and high-quality laboratory services. They are essential in ensuring the timely delivery of accurate test results which are critical for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This role demands a combination of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care. Key duties include collecting and handling biological samples, interacting with patients, processing specimens, performing clinical tests, operating laboratory instruments, analyzing test results, maintaining records, collaborating with healthcare professionals, conducting quality control checks, adhering to infection control measures, and engaging in ongoing education and training.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., medical laboratory technology, clinical science). Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience preferred. Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques, electronic health record management systems, basic computer skills including Word and Excel, and familiarity with lab information systems. Strong communication skills, commitment to self-development, in-depth knowledge of medical laboratory equipment and procedures, proficiency in inventorying supplies and maintaining laboratory equipment, and exceptional ability in summarizing and reporting test results.
