• Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment and machinery
• Lead day-to-day operations in the workshop or yard environment
• Fabricate and modify parts, structures, and equipment as needed (welding, cutting, fitting, etc.)
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and plans
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement long-term solutions
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Train and support junior mechanics and labourers
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work environment
• Coordinate with management on project timelines, parts, and priorities

Additional Skills and Traits:

• Proven experience as a mechanic (industrial, heavy equipment, automotive, or similar)
• Strong fabrication skills (welding, cutting, metalwork, etc.)
• Experience operating workshop machinery and tools
• Ability to lead a team and take initiative on projects
• Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
• Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices
• Forklift or heavy equipment experience is an asset
