PwC's Tax Group in Bermuda has exciting employment opportunities at the Associate, Experienced Associate, Senior Associate, Manager and Senior Manager levels. As a member of the Tax Group, you will assist offshore businesses, individuals and organisations with their U.S., Bermuda, and international tax strategy, planning and compliance, while delivering a wide range of business advisory services. Associate • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a specialisation in business/finance/economics, accounting/taxation, or a law degree from an accredited university is essential; • International Tax experience preferred but not required; • Must be qualified to sit the CPA exams or qualified to sit the bar exam in a U.S. state (or international accounting/law equivalent). Experienced Associate • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a specialisation in accounting/taxation, business/finance/economics, or a law degree from an accredited university is essential; • 1+ years of International Tax experience required; and • Must be qualified to sit the CPA exams or qualified to sit the bar exam in a U.S. state (or international accounting/law equivalent). Senior Associate • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a specialisation in business/finance/economics, accounting/taxation, or a law degree from an accredited university is essential; • 2+ years of International Tax experience required; • Must have written, or be scheduled to write the CPA exams or qualified to sit the bar exam in a U.S. state (or international accounting/law equivalent) or hold an equivalent relevant US Tax certification (eg, Enrolled Agent); and • Candidates who do not have CPA or EA eligibility but have a minimum 3 years relevant Tax experience (US tax experience preferred) will be considered. Manager • Must have either successfully completed the U.S. Certified Public Accounting designation, be admitted to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction, or hold an equivalent relevant US Tax certification (eg, Enrolled Agent); • Minimum of 5 years work experience focusing on tax with an international accounting Firm, international law firm or similar work experience specialising in the tax issues of partnerships and/or corporations is essential; Senior Manager • Must have either successfully completed the U.S. Certified Public Accounting designation, be admitted to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction, or hold an equivalent relevant US Tax certification (eg, Enrolled Agent). Candidates who do not have the CPA or EA qualification but have the required relevant Tax experience (US tax experience preferred) will be considered; • Minimum of 7 years work experience focusing on tax with an international accounting Firm, international law firm or similar work experience specialising in the tax issues of partnerships and/or corporations is essential; and • Specific expertise in asset management or insurance will be advantageous. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • The preparation and review of tax returns for insurance companies, investment funds and other tax filings (primarily U.S. tax focused); • Conducting or supervision of conducting of tax research and drafting tax technical research memoranda; • The preparation of presentation materials for the marketing of tax services; and • Meeting with existing and potential clients to discuss tax issues. In addition to the above, Manager and Senior Manager level responsibilities and requirements include: • Managing client engagements, including staffing and economics; and • Extensive knowledge of U.S. tax compliance and consulting needs of various investment funds and/or insurance companies including expertise in tax compliance softwares. Equivalent experience with non-U.S. tax matters will be considered.
