On behalf of our client Menzies Aviation, we are seeking a General Manager – Ground Handling. Reporting to the regional VP of Operations, the role requires a seasoned senior manager with strong operational and business understanding and leadership skills. Candidates must have the ability to run a business in a challenging environment, whilst maintaining strict Menzies Corporate Governance and Financial guidelines. Services offered at this location include Ramp Services and Passenger Service handling. The successful candidate will have a responsibility and duty whilst at work to take reasonable care of the health, safety and wellbeing of all persons in accordance with provided information, training, and workplace health and safety rules or procedures. In all areas of our business there is a potential risk to the health, safety and welfare to everyone on our sites through the misuse of alcohol and drugs. As such the Company prohibits such misuse and carries out regular testing to enforce our Substance Misuse Policy. Lead overall station operations, ensuring safe, secure, and high- quality ground handling services in line with Menzies Aviation standards and airline contractual requirements. Ensure consistent service delivery performance across all customer airlines, operating within agreed budgets and commercial targets. Maintain full compliance with aviation safety, security, and regulatory standards, proactively addressing risks and operational issues. Develop and maintain local operating procedures and quality controls to support operational effectiveness and audit readiness. Monitor operational and financial performance, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives as required. Build and lead a high-performing management team, providing clear direction, coaching, and development. Manage key stakeholder relationships including airline partners, airport authorities, regulators, unions, and other operational counterparts. Lead or support commercial negotiations with airline customers and employee representatives. Ensure effective incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and response planning in collaboration with regional safety leadership. Prepare and present operational and service performance reports as required. Work shifts as required to meet business and operational demands.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and 5-10 years' relevant management experience. Significant senior management experience, preferably within aviation, airport operations, or ground handling environments. Strong commercial acumen, with experience in business development, pricing, and contract negotiation. Proven leadership capability, with the ability to influence, engage, and motivate teams and stakeholders at all levels. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence operating in a highly regulated, safety-critical environment. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Willingness to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Competent in standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Shortlisted candidates must complete comprehensive security vetting and be eligible for security clearance.
