The Medical Waste Assistant Incinerator Operator is responsible for proper / safe operation and maintenance of various incinerators and associated equipment located within the MediWaste Medical Waste facility ("the facility"). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Works under the direction of the Chief Operations Officer / Plant Manager of MediWaste. • Assist (when necessary) in the collection of medical waste from generators and transport to MediWaste medical waste facility. In addition, assist (when necessary) in the collection of the ash from the incinerator and the transport and disposal of the ash to Tynes Bay Waste facility. Ability to drive a Van (L) and a intermediate (IN) Truck. • Responsible for proper operation and maintenance of the various incinerators and associated equipment located within the MediWaste Medical Waste and Pet Crematorium facility ("the facility"). Ensure that the startup and shutdown procedures for all incinerators and associated equipment are accurately followed and in accordance to the operations manual. Responsible for loading medical waste into incinerators according to established sorting and loading procedures. • Provides monitoring of all equipment within the facility, ensuring that the equipment (Auto feeder, Incinerator, Heat Exchanger, and the Pollution Control Unit, etc.) is operating within normal Parameters. • Required to conduct regular and ongoing maintenance of all equipment within the facility. Responsible for the cleaning of all equipment, ensuring that they are outwardly clean and inwardly free of clutter or debris. • Assisting in maintaining a clean, organized and neat facility

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering or Minimum Third (3rd) Class Steam Ticket 3 years' experience in boiler operations Self-starter and able to work without supervision Computer & tech literate - i.e Microsoft suite, email, Whatsapp, etc Waste Management service experience is an advantage • Pollution Control experience is an advantage
