The Marine Detailer is responsible for all detailing, bottom painting, fibreglass & gel coat work within our PW Marine yard & Marina & may be asked to perform small electrical tasks. We are looking to grow our detailing division in house & the ideal candidate will be a vital team member for our organization Tasks & Responsibilities • Power & Acid washing boats as they arrive in the yard Painting boat bottoms • Removal of oxidation & waxing of sides/topsides of boats • Internal cleaning & detailing as per customer request Canvas & Upholstery treatments for mold, mildew & sun damage • Gelcoat & Fibreglass repair of vessels • Polishing & treating Stainless Steel Inspections for damage & defects to be reported to the Service Manager Thorough inspection of Safety Equipment to ensure it is not damaged or expired Experience Managing Labour & Costs for jobs Understanding & use of new products as they arrive at PW Marine • Willingness to work Weekends and perform additional tasks with the scope of the role. Minimum Requirements Experience with high-speed rotary buffer tools Familiarity with various waxes, paints & priming components • Knowledge of how to paint boat bottoms from scratch • Experience handling gel coats, fibreglass & boat systems High Attention to Detail Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations involved when working with potentially hazardous chemicals Work in all outdoor elements whether in the yard or on the water • Good time & expense management skills • Be physically able - this position involves a lot of bending, lifting, stooping, reaching & stretching! • Boat operating skills & handling preferred
