Lorraine Nursing Home is seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Head Chef to lead our dietary services for our 33-resident nursing home facility. The successful candidate will manage our kitchen operations, design nutritious menus tailored to senior healthcare needs (including therapeutic and texture-modified diets), and supervise a dedicated team of Kitchen Porters. Key responsibilities include planning and overseeing the production of three daily meals, supervising cleaning schedules, adhering to health guidelines, and managing inventory and budgeting.
Requirements
Formal Culinary Arts qualification OR equivalent long-term care cooking experience. 2-3 years of culinary experience, ideally within a residential care, hospital, or institutional setting. Proven leadership experience managing or supervising kitchen staff. Current, valid Food Handling Certificate. Strong knowledge of specialized senior nutrition (diabetic, low sodium, pureed diets).
