Works under general direction of the DON to provide personal care and assistance to assigned residents, enabling them to maintain a quality of life within limits to their health status and / or the ageing. Key duties include providing personal care, assisting with meals, collecting specimens, taking and recording vital signs, observing residents and reporting significant changes, and maintaining confidentiality of information. The post holder must be willing to work on a shift basis and cooperate with other staff.

Requirements

High School diploma, Certification as a Nursing Assistant, must be registered with the Bermuda Nursing Council, minimum of 3 years’ experience working as a CNA, previous experience in a hospital or Rest/Nursing Home setting is an asset, good interpersonal and communication skills, patience and understanding skills needed to work with the elderly, and strength to lift and transfer residents.
