Lancashire Insurance Company Limited, a member of the Lancashire Insurance Group, is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join our Finance Team in Bermuda. The successful applicant will provide accounting and support for all aspects of the insurance and reinsurance accounting function. Main responsibilities include preparing internal and external reports (GAAP financial statements), ensuring efficient operation of the finance function, assisting with office close processes, preparing detailed premiums and claims analysis, and supervising reinsurance cash settlements.

Requirements

Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA or ACA). Minimum of 5 years' post qualification experience, specifically gained in an insurance/reinsurance environment. Deep understanding of (re)insurance contract accounting, namely IFRS 17. Demonstrable knowledge of finance systems (including Great Plains General Ledger and WDesk) and SQL coding. Strong knowledge of BMA regulatory reporting. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Ability to work extended hours including weekends during busy periods.
