We are seeking an energetic Fund Accountant to join the ILS team to support the continuing growth of this successful business. Hiscox Re Insurance Linked Strategies Ltd is licensed by the Bermuda Monetary Authority to conduct investment business and as an insurance manager and agent. Reporting into the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will join a small yet dynamic Finance Operations team responsible for the financial reporting of the Funds, SPIs and Investment Manager. The role is suited to a qualified accountant (CA, CPA, ACCA or international equivalent) with relevant industry experience looking to apply their knowledge and skillset within an ILS investment manager environment. Key duties include reviewing NAV calculations, posting journal entries, preparing financial statements under US GAAP, and monitoring cash balances.

Requirements

A professional accounting designation (CA, CPA, ACCA or international equivalent). Minimum 3 years post-qualified accounting experience at a fund administrator or audit firm. Experience with any GL system; working with Oracle a distinct advantage. Experience with technical subseries accounting and NAV reporting would be advantageous. Experience working in a highly regulated environment. Highly numeric with proven track record of strong attention to detail. Computer savvy with strong Excel skills and aptitude to learn formulas with ease. Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task to complete work within established deadlines. Ability to use initiative to enhance working papers and work effectively in a small team environment. Strong communication skills (both verbal and written). Commitment to working extended hours as required in order to achieve business objectives.
