Gibbons Company is seeking an experienced, creative and commercially driven Buyer to join our Buying team. This is a senior position within Gibbons Company, reporting directly to the CEO. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a distinctive assortment of high-quality home and lifestyle products, including furniture, home furnishings, home textiles, bed and bath linens, tableware, decorative accessories, and home organization and storage solutions. We are looking for someone who combines strong retail buying expertise with a keen eye for design, quality and emerging trends. The ideal candidate will have experience sourcing both branded and private label products from international markets and a proven ability to develop assortments that meet customer expectations while achieving sales, margin and inventory objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years' experience in international retail buying and/or luxury home product design, preferably within furniture, home furnishings, textiles, tableware, home organization, or related categories.
- A College degree in Buying, Merchandising, Business, Interior Design, Product Design, or a related discipline is preferred
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in retail information systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
