Based in Bermuda and reporting into the President this executive role oversees the global Reserving, Capital Management, and Actuarial Reporting functions covering Property, Casualty and Specialty lines of reinsurance business.Key areas of responsibility will include: Overseeing the Capital Model and Economic Capital assessments. Partnering with the CRO to optimize capital allocation based on the risk-adjusted returns calculated by the pricing team. Ensuring all actuarial filings and opinions are technically sound and submitted on time. Conducting deep-dive analyses of "actual vs. expected" performance. Working with the Head of Pricing to identify segments of the portfolio that require remedial action or strategic expansion. Supporting the CRO in quantifying tail risks, assessing retrocessional needs, and maintaining the company's risk appetite framework. Driving the evolution of actuarial data infrastructure, championing the use of modern tools (Python, R, Snowflake) to automate routine reporting and focus the team on high value predictive analytics. Translating complex actuarial uncertainties into clear, strategic narratives for the Board, Audit Committee, and external stakeholders.

Requirements

Together with extensive actuarial and leadership experience the successful candidate will have: An Actuarial designation (FCAS, FIA, FCIA, or equivalent). Significant experience in the Bermuda or London reinsurance markets - including familiarity with BMA and/or PRA regulatory environments. Comprehensive experience in long-tail and short tail reserving, pricing and stochastic capital modeling.
