Liberty Group of Companies, including a Bermuda Class 4 insurer and a Managing General Agency, seeks a Financial Controller based in Bermuda. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, monitoring and enforcing procedures and controls to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for the Bermuda entities. The role requires strong technical accounting capability, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to deliver results under tight deadlines. The position may require extended hours during peak reporting periods, including occasional weekends and public holidays. Duties & Responsibilities: Lead the preparation and review of financial results for Bermuda entities. Manage financial operations for the Bermuda entities, including monthly cession statements for all agency partners. Manage and monitor accounts receivable and collections. Oversee accounts payable and treasury/cash management activities. Prepare and/or support the preparation of U.S. GAAP financial statements and Bermuda regulatory reporting. Maintain, implement and ensure compliance with internal controls. Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Partner with IT to enhance financial reporting systems and related processes. Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team across multiple locations, including workload allocation, training, performance management and issue resolution. Undertake other ad-hoc projects as required.
