We are seeking applications for an experienced Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The Veterinary Receptionist is an integrated member of the medical team, working directly with veterinarians and nurses to ensure patient safety and accurate record-keeping. Applicants should have at least 3 years' previous experience working as a veterinary receptionist in a busy veterinary clinic and hospital using a veterinary medical software program (e.g., Avimark) to schedule appointments, procedures, surgeries and house calls; booking boarding, doggy daycare and grooming appointments; producing invoices and receiving payments; monitoring accounts; and ensuring accurate billing, posting and recovery. Triage capability is essential - the successful candidate must be able to recognize and prioritize urgent and emergency cases (e.g., trauma, seizures, toxin ingestion) and escalate appropriately to the clinical team whilst documenting and keeping accurate medical records of the matter. High computer proficiency, competent arithmetic skills, excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities, as well as a personable nature, empathetic disposition, and the capacity to work well during distressing situations and under pressure, with excellent time-keeping and reliability, are required. Applicants must be able and willing to work shifts, on weekends, and on public holidays, and to participate in the on-call phone rota, as needed. Experience promoting a veterinary clinic and hospital using social media platforms would be an advantage.
