Banking Customer Service Specialist

This position is responsible for assisting customers in all of their general retail banking requirements, either by completing their required transactions or by referring them to other departments when specialized services are needed. Your responsibilities will include: Receiving requests from clients either in-person or by written instructions, and ensuring that they are acted upon while adhering to Bank policies and procedures. This includes: Opening and closing accounts following established procedures, which includes completion of relevant forms, performing due diligence tasks, analysing results, and preparing account opening packages for review. Scanning application packages and various documents into electronic folders. Performing maintenance on accounts including address changes, signatory amendments, or changes to static data. Completing applications for credit/debit cards. Transferring of funds between accounts. Setting up standing orders. Handling general inquiries and complaints or referring clients to the appropriate departments. Cross-selling Bank products and keeping abreast of new products and services. Ensuring that due diligence is applied as it relates to the Bank Code of Conduct and Anti-Money Laundering procedures.

Requirements

An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualifications with four years of retail banking experience. Complete understanding of bank policies and procedures. Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. A strong knowledge of core banking systems would be an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Familiarity with a wide range of banking products. Demonstrated ability to deal with customers in a mature and professional manner.
