The Head Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of all company machinery and trucks. This is a very demanding position, one which is heavily relied on by the Company to keep its fleet of trucks, hi-lifts and forklifts in excellent running order. The Head Technician is responsible for the overall management of the Garage team and its services.Primary Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintaining/ensuring all motorized vehicles, rolling equipment, meat processing machinery, electric roller doors and ramps for the Company are operational at both divisions.Maintaining and repairing all Air Conditioning and refrigeration on all trucks.Diagnosing electrical issues on electric fork-lifts & trucks.Utilization of scan tools.Ability to weld/installing tailgates & truck bodies.Ensuring all body work and spray painting are up to standards.Performing estimates on collision damage.Repairing of all battery chargers. (Fork-lifts)Maintaining and ordering all inventory parts of trucks and rolling stock.Assessing and responding to all weekly vehicle check sheets.Preparing all vehicles for annual TCD inspection.Scheduling a preventative maintenance program for all vehicles at each division.Ordering all new trucks/rolling vehicles for each division on annual basis if required.Responsible for installing all decals on trucks.Managing and deploying staff to fix any truck/rolling stock issues at either division.

Requirements

Certified in Raymond Hi-lift maintenance including electrical.Certified in Hollymatic meat room equipment.Certified in air conditioning repairs for refrigerated trucks.Knowledge of all aspects of welding.An Associate's Degree in gas and diesel technology (or equivalent).Self-starter - ability to work effectively and efficiently without supervision and to set own goals and targets.Ability to organize and to supervise staff.Keeping up with changes in technology through communication with vendors and reading of recently published manuals.Trained and/or experienced in bodywork, spray painting and welding.Good verbal and written communication skills.
