Working under the direction of the Airfield Supervisor, within the Facilities & Asset Management Department, and supervised by the Wildlife Control Specialist, the Wildlife & Habitat Control Technician’s responsibility is to maintain all the vegetation on the airfield, the airfield assets, and the maneuvering area surfaces. The Wildlife & Habitat Control Technician will also be responsible for completing wildlife control duties. Key duties include inspecting and maintaining vegetation, maintaining runways/taxiways in accordance with ICAO standards, operating mechanical sweepers, and performing periodic maintenance on equipment.

Requirements

Completion of High School or equivalent; Current certificate for basic safety (NCCER), First Aid, and CPR; Physically fit and able-bodied; Valid driver’s license for Light trucks or higher; Knowledge of animal identification; Ability to operate a computer and word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; Ability to communicate effectively over telephone and two-way radio; Ability to operate automotive and specialized mechanical equipment.
