The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a skilled and capable individual to work as a Senior Analyst in our Supervision (Conduct Regulation) Department. Reporting to the Assistant Director – Conduct Regulation. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Departmental initiatives focused on enhancing the Conduct of Business supervisory framework(s) and for assisting with the assessment and analysis of regulated entities to comply with their Conduct of Business obligations. This is a key role for the Authority, and the postholder will be responsible for, but not limited to: Supporting all facets of the supervision of regulated entities in relation to their Conduct of Business obligations, including on-site inspections, desk-based assessments, ongoing supervision and/or periodic evaluations. Assisting with the Authority’s Customer Complaint Management process. Assisting with preparing and delivering reports on regulatory activities, compliance trends and supervisory findings to inform decision-making. Conducting research to identify trends, risks and areas for improvement, using data to support Conduct Regulation supervision. Collaborating with internal stakeholders to align Conduct Regulation framework(s), policy, procedures and/or projects. Performing other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post.
Requirements
This position requires a proven technical and business background; therefore, the post-holder must have: A bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, finance, accounting, public policy, law, or a related field and/or an equivalent qualification in a relevant area from a recognised institution or professional body. Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in areas such as policy or supervision with a financial regulatory body and/or operations, risk, compliance or audit, with a regulated institution performing similar duties. Experience with internal and external stakeholder collaboration. Experience in conducting research, analysing and interpreting data to extract relevant insights and support decision-making. Ability to work independently or as part of a team to achieve common goals and drive work to completion effectively and efficiently. Ability to prioritise effectively and take a proactive approach in dealing with matters. Demonstrated written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Experience in interpreting applicable legislation and regulations is an asset. Experience in interpreting, supervising and/or analysing Code of Conduct regulations is an asset.
