Key responsibilities include: Reviews physicians' orders for phlebotomy and/or intravenous therapy, assesses clients, formulates a plan, executes intervention and evaluates outcomes. Identifies appropriate individual patient needs and point of care as they relate to phlebotomy and/or intravenous therapy. Skillfully performs venipunctures. Monitors and cares for the patient population from pediatric to the elderly. Provides knowledgeable care and maintenance of all vascular access devices. Skillfully performing central line removal. Monitors proper utilization of vascular access and infusion equipment. Participates in the care of patients receiving specific intravenous therapy, including Iron infusions, biologics, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), and/or blood/blood products. Performs Apheresis for patients requiring red cell exchange/ therapeutic plasma exchange.
