The post holder is responsible for the conduct of criminal proceedings under the direction of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Deputy Directors of Public Prosecutions. The post holder prosecutes cases in the Magistrates Courts and provides advice to the Police, Ministries, and other Departments on criminal matters. The role includes performing duties as junior counsel in the Supreme Court and in the Court of Appeal as well as conducting litigation, training, and providing legal advice related to criminal law.

Requirements

The post-holder must have successfully completed a lawful pupillage to the satisfaction of the Director of Public Prosecutions and be able to be called to the Bermuda Bar. The post holder must be qualified to practice law as a barrister or Attorney-at-Law in a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
