The Library Assistant provides front-line library services to students, faculty, and members of the public, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery. The incumbent supports the work of the Library Director, the Circulation and Collection Management Librarian, and Library Technicians in the coordination and delivery of core library services and daily operations. Responsibilities include circulation services, collection maintenance, and digitization support, as well as assisting with the supervision and training of student assistants. Library Assistant also contributes to outreach initiatives, programming and promotional activities that enhance engagement with library resources and services.

Requirements

Successful completion of a BSC or equivalent, plus one (1) year of post-secondary education. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with diverse user groups. Strong organizational ability and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a busy environment. Proficiency with standard office software and library automation systems. Basic understanding of social media tools for outreach and promotion. Ability to provide clear guidance and supervision to student assistants. Commitment to high-quality service, teamwork, and professional conduct.

Salary

$60000 - 70000 per month
