The Nursery and Preschool Paraprofessional Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for young children. The Paraprofessional assists with implementing age-appropriate activities that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The role involves observing and assessing children’s progress, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and working collaboratively with colleagues and families to support each child’s growth and learning.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience • Diploma or Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. • Minimum 2 years of experience working with young children in a nursery or preschool setting preferred. • Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate learning practices. • SCARS and Current First Aid and CPR certification. • Clear background and safeguarding checks as required by Bermuda regulations. Required Competencies, Skills and Abilities • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and staff. • Ability to assist in planning and implementing engaging learning activities for young children. • Strong classroom management and behaviour guidance skills. • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm when working with children. • Ability to observe and assess children’s development. • Good organizational and time management skills. • Ability to work effectively as part of a team. • Commitment to maintaining a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
