Agam Bermuda Ltd. is a Company based out of Bermuda providing management expertise to existing and future entities transacting in the life re-insurance space. We are establishing a best-in-class re insurance platform with a prudent, risk-aware focus and offer exciting opportunities for a talented individual seeking new, dynamic challenges. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) Chief Actuary (CA) and working closely with the Executive Team, the Director position, is a newly created leadership role that will be responsible for facilitating the design, implementation and ongoing evolution of the organization's Enterprise Risk Management. A key component of the Company's second line of defense mandate, the Director will champion the respective frameworks and provide leadership and management to embed these critical items in the organization and drive a culture of risk awareness, effective challenge, governance and transparency. A key area of focus is driving the application of the risk cycle of risk identification, measurement, response, monitoring and reporting for all financial and non-financial current and emerging risks. The Director will ensure that the organization's risk management policies and strategies are compliant with applicable regulations, rating agency standards and strategic imperatives of the organization. The role will involve collaboration with all other functional groups in the organization. The Director will work closely with the CRO, CA, Director of Actuarial and Director of Finance and a small support team to implement and advance the Risk Management mandate through the following activities: Developing, implementing and evolving the Enterprise Risk Management Framework including effective governance, independence, controls, culture, risk identification and control. Developing, implementing and evolving the Risk Appetite Framework including linkage to strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and effective transparency and escalation. Leading the design, implementation and evolution of the Operational Risk Management Framework and associated methodologies and processes Responsible for providing informed, independent challenge for all risks assumed by the Company and ensuring appropriate governance is in place consistent with the Company's risk appetite. Responsible for reviewing and assisting in identifying business risks and controls through self-assessments (RCSAs), new initiative risk assessments and other risk assessments. Ensuring completeness and consistent use of the Company's risk assessment and methodologies. Verifying action plans resulting from the assessments and ensuring they are properly logged and actioned. Providing analysis and expertise utilizing a variety of analytical techniques and performing "deep dives" of topical risk issues; creating new reporting to facilitate risk and quality monitoring, presenting data and information in a meaningful format to be actioned and to support decision making. Preparing, reviewing, validating and ensuring all reports are delivered in a timely fashion according to the agreed production schedule of monthly, quarterly and annual Risk and/or Board Reporting. Maintaining and updating the Company's Risk Register and Taxonomy and operational risk management tools, procedures and quality control checklists, contributing to development and delivery of risk awareness training. Designing and implementing risk dashboards for senior management including an aggregate, integrated dashboard that consolidates risk at the enterprise level. Identifying and implementing efficiencies within the risk management framework and processes to foster a culture of continuous improvement. • Developing fluency with all applicable regulation. Supporting CRO enterprise risk initiatives and reviews including regulatory reporting and internal/external audit.

Requirements

Relevant certification in Risk Management or related field (CFA, FRM, CERA) is ideal. PSA, or other actuarial designation required. Due to the nature of the role, the ideal candidate will have a CFA designation. Knowledge of the Insurance and/or Financial Services industry and regulatory environment. Familiar with USGAAP, IFRS 17, Bermuda EBS (Economic Balance Sheet) and/or similar. Thorough understanding of risk assessment best practices, concepts and tools. Ability to identify business-critical needs, analyze complex situations and a view to determining causes, problem solving skills with demonstrated creative, innovative and strategic thinking. Great communication and project management skills. Ability to multitask and be adaptable to changing needs of the role. Entrepreneurial mindset. Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Strong blend of analytical, decision-making and creative problem-solving skills.
