Senior Reporting Actuary

Our client, Aflac is seeking Senior Reporting Actuary to join their team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supports the Chief Actuary and CFO to prepare regular financial reporting for Bermuda EBS and BSCR reporting, and prepare business performance reporting; performs reviews and interpretation of financial results and analysis. Supports the financial management and operations of Aflac Re, including timely reinsurance net settlement activities and cash management. Supports the CFO to ensure proper and timely financial and tax accounting in accordance with GMP and Bermuda Regulatory Requirements. Establishes and monitors compliance for reinsurance activities on both an operational and accounting basis. Works with internal service providers and business partners, if improvements or corrections are needed, to ensure that these are clearly documented and implemented in an efficient and effective manner. Prepares presentation materials for the Board of Directors and assists in the development of agendas. Works with other members of Aflac Re including CRO and other senior management to ensure that Aflac Re has appropriate internal controls that provide timely information to the Board of Directors. Collaborates and maintains relationships with internal and external partners in order to receive inputs, assumptions, projection output, objectives, and constraints; to coordinate risk analysis, validation, and review; and to share and discuss results. Ensures compliance with the Bermuda Code of Conduct and other regulatory and legal requirements. This is not an exhaustive list and the Actuary shall be expected to perform other duties as required

Requirements

A Bachelor Degree - Actuarial science, mathematics, finance, computer science, or a related field An FSA designation from the Society of Actuaries (SOA), or a designation from a relevant international actuarial organization such as the United Kingdom or Japan Eight years of experience working in the actuarial field that includes financial reporting, valuation, or forecasting is required Five years of insurance/reinsurance experience including international insurance/reinsurance Applies actuarial expertise with standard concepts, practices, and procedures specific to Bermuda, US GAAP and Tax, and economic valuations or otherwise learns efficiently to fill any gaps in knowledge and skills Strong functional skills in management reporting, data analysis, and data management Strong written and oral communication skills including ability to articulate technical results and concepts to non-technical audience and influence others Ability to work within and across teams Ability to handle deadline-oriented work
