Our client ABR Reinsurance Ltd. is an innovative independent reinsurer. Through unique long-term arrangements, The Chubb Group is the sole source of reinsurance risks ceded to ABR Re, and BlackRock Financial Management and ICONIQ Capital, LLC are the company's exclusive investment managers. ABR Re underwrites a portion of a broad selection of reinsurance treaties that Chubb places with the traditional reinsurance market, as well as alongside Chubb in certain instances, and invests its assets in a diversified and dynamic alternative investment portfolio managed by BlackRock and ICONIQ. ABR Re is small, nimble, and positioned for growth - harnessing the complementary strengths of their strategic partners to drive results on both sides of the balance sheet. The Actuarial Analyst will support a wide range of actuarial and underwriting activities and collaborate closely with the reinsurance operations team. Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Performing treaty pricing analysis for new and renewal business across a diverse reinsurance portfolio • Maintaining and enhancing actuarial pricing models • Assisting with preparation of quarterly and annual underwriting forecasts • Assisting with preparation of reserving data and conducting supporting analysis by line of business • Assisting with developing and implementing automation and controls for policy pricing, reserving, underwriting forecasts, and data validation • Assisting with claims processing and addressing matters impacting reserves • Participating in additional projects or responsibilities as may be required Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a related field from an accredited university • Credit for a least three (3) actuarial exams from the Casualty Actuarial Society or Society of Actuaries or equivalent from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant actuarial experience gained in a leading (re)insurer, consulting firm, or similar environment • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including Visual Basic for Applications • Proficiency in SQL programming • Strong background in actuarial techniques, with working knowledge of catastrophe modeling • Strong work ethic, with demonstrated ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines • Desire to learn and grow professionally in a dynamic and entrepreneurial small team environment ABR Re offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including life, health, dental, and disability coverages.
