IQUW Re Bermuda Limited is a Bermuda Class 3B Reinsurance Company and is part of the IQUW Group. IQUW is a Property/Specialty insurance and reinsurance business, developing innovative ways to combine data, utilize intelligent automation and human expertise to make smart decisions, fast. Reporting to the Head of Reserving in London with a dotted line to the CFO Bermuda , this role leads the quarterly reserving process across all business lines, produces regulatory and capital management reporting including BSCR and rating agency submissions, manages actuarial best estimate reserves and board presentations, and maintains key relationships with underwriting, external auditors, and internal stakeholders while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Initially this will be a sole reserving role in Bermuda and a hands on approach will be required. Primary Responsibilities: Lead the quarterly reserving process for all business lines for IQUW Re Bermuda Limited. Produce quarterly reporting required for BSCR estimation process and play a lead role in completion of the annual filing liaising with ORI, exposure management and finance. Produce reporting required for Capital Management including Rating Agency reporting. Participate in the major event response process, including identifying potential enhancements and embedding catastrophe modelling software solutions. Produce actuarial best estimate reserves and ranges using a clear and consistent approach across the business. Produce board quality reserve reports and present to the Reserving Committee and the Board. Form close relationships with underwriting and where appropriate with cedants and gather additional information relevant to reserving. Lead the reserving relationship with extemal audit and loss reserve specialists, ensuring timely provision of information and query responses. Implement reserving software into company processes, and continue to identify improvements in clarity, consistency, efficiency, and governance. Drive initiatives to enhance understanding of emerging risks and market conditions, including analyzing publicly available market data to gain insights and produce benchmarks. Work collaboratively with the London based reserving team to ensure consistency of approach. Stay abreast of regulatory changes impacting reserving practices and ensure compliance with regulatory and actuarial standards. Form strong relationships with Data, Finance, Operations, ORI and Underwriting teams to facilitate robust and streamlined data flow. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics. Qualified Fellow of a globally recognized actuarial organization (e.g., Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Casualty Actuarial Society). 7+ years of post-qualification actuarial work experience within the (re)insurance industry. 5+ years in a similar Head of Reserving position 3 of which in a management capacity. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex actuarial concepts to a wide range of stakeholders. Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Strong conceptual and analytical skills. Flexible and open-minded attitude. Enthusiasm to develop knowledge and expertise in a wide range of fields.
