Sr. ICT Technician

We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Sr. ICT Technician; specializing in Fiber Optics and therefore, candidates with a strong technical aptitude in both disciplines, who are self-driven and hold a high regard for a strong work ethic will be well suited for this position. More importantly, individuals must also possess a keen sense of Customer Service while building strong working relationships with our valued clients. Responsibilities: As Sr. ICT Technician, you will be required to work independently as a Field/ OSP Technician and/or as part of a team on various types of projects. You will be required to act as a Team Lead on projects, assisting the PM. Assist the PM to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion while adhering to industry codes and standards. This includes but not limited to time & cost management, procurement & resource management and most importantly, quality management. Prepare estimates for service work and small projects and in the absence of the PM, attend client/ project meetings. Articulate clear & precise instructions when directing teams and communicate effectively with clients and other tradespersons to comprehend matters and resolve issues. Educate and enforce Company Health & Safety Policies to ensure awareness and the importance of safety and wellbeing of employees. Administer all project documentation (ie: change orders, as-builts, testing documentation, billing notes). Able to work shift, extended hours, weekends or whatever means necessary to comply with project timelines or emergency situations. Provide 'On-the-Job' training & mentorship. Qualifications/Requirements: BICSI Technician (TECH™)/ Installer 2 - Optical Fiber (INSTF) Certification or equivalent certification specializing in Fibre Optics. Minimum 7-years' experience within the ICT Infrastructure industry; having extensive hands-on experience primarily with installing, terminating, splicing and testing fiber optic solutions as well as ethernet and coax cabling 3-Years minimum Project Lead experience installing, terminating and testing large ICT Infrastructures, building out IT Coms Rooms complete with cable tray & rack systems. Demonstrates clear understanding & excellent working knowledge of industry tools & equipment specifically OTDR, Light Source Meter and/or optical analyzers and fusion splicer & termination kit. Holds Occupational Health & Safety Certification (LIFT, Fall Protection) as well as CPR/AED/First Aid. Must have good working knowledge of MS Office & experience with drafting would be a strong asset. Being punctual and having a good attendance record. Strong interpersonal skills with keen leadership qualities to promote a positive working environment. Highly organized to work on several projects simultaneously and take initiative to advance professionally. Be able to pass a criminal background check & substance abuse test.
