Packwood Home is a registered charity dedicated to providing quality care for seniors in a safe, clean, pleasant environment that fosters dignity, choice and physical independence. We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse with a strong work ethic to join our team. The successful candidate must enjoy working with seniors and have superior clinical skills. Specific responsibilities for this full-time position include: Coordinates nursing services. Provides nursing care and directs care of residents; maintains effective communication with nursing staff and other personnel, residents, residents' families and others relative to care; maintains policies, procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Assists with ensuring adequate nursing coverage at all times; assigns and schedules nurses and nursing assistants. Monitors' caseloads and work schedules and effects changes as needed. Monitors and evaluates the outcomes of nursing care; identifies care-related problems and deficiencies; identifies causes and ensures corrective action. Provides supervision to all staff assigned to the Nursing Program, including nurses and nursing assistants; ensures evaluation of work performance in accordance with established procedures. Provides on-going resident assessment and care planning including initial planning (on admission) and interim planning (to include clinical status changes). Prepares and administers medications and treatments. Records prescribed medications and reports adverse reactions to medications or treatments in accordance with established policy. Identifies and provides best practices regarding pressure ulcer prevention, continence care, dementia care and alternative restraint. Applicants must: Possess a Registered Nursing License. Be registered with the Bermuda Nursing Council. Be CPR certified. Must have at least three (3) years skilled nursing experience with seniors. Be prepared to work flexible hours including public holidays, nights, alternate weekends and shared on-call duties.
