Registered Nurses

Assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client/patient plan of care. Coordination and direction of nursing care utilizing the nursing process. Functioning as a member of a collaborative care team to achieve patient/client outcomes. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program recognized by the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council. Minimum two (2) years post graduate nursing experience. Current registration with the Bermuda Nursing Council is required. BCLS/ ACLS certification. Certification in specialty area required Assesses patient's/client's mental, physical and emotional care needs and develops care plans to meet those needs. Communicates and works with multidisciplinary team to establish comprehensive treatment plans consistent with the needs of the patient/ client and keeps the psychiatrist informed of the service user's condition and progress. RN, RMN, RNMH, Graduate of a 3 or 4 year Psychiatric Nursing Education Program or an 18 month Post Graduate Psychiatric course approved by the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council. Minimum of 2 years post registration experience of working in Psychiatric Nursing. Conducts mental health assessments/triage of presenting symptoms of individuals referred to Outpatient Services. Manages assigned case load. Provides support to Clinic Triage Nurse (CTN) and supervises the work of support staff as applicable. Administers medications to patient/clients. Orders medications for patients/clients. Encourages supports staff to deliver person-centered care that enables patients/ clients to engage meaningful activities and relationships. Engages members of the public in the promotion of mental health/wellbeing and relapse prevention. Acts as Case Manager for assigned clients or groups of patients to develop and implement treatment plans and programmes. Liaises with caregivers, relatives and other care providers for the best outcomes of patients/clients. Must be Registered Psychiatric Nurse or equivalent with minimum of 3 (three) years post graduate experience. Certificate in Community Psychiatric Nursing or equivalent with minimum preferred with 3 years of experience working in a community mental health setting. Experience in working in a Community Mental Health Team (particularly with the Recovery Model of Care) is a distinct advantage. Registration with the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council is mandatory.
