IMAGING TECHNOLOGISTS (FULL-TIME, PART TIME & LOCUM) Adheres to the established Strategic Plan, Vision and Mission statements of the Bermuda Hospitals Board and Imaging Service Department Standards. Maintains established departmental goals and objectives. Evaluates physician orders to determine the most appropriate action to obtain optimal images of our clients for diagnostic clarity. Utilizes appropriate imaging protocols. Consults with the Radiologist, as required. Participates in educational programs, current literature and in-service programs. Practices Radiation. Safety and Infection Control techniques at all times. Agrees to rotate through imaging modalities as required by way of experience and/or certification in CT, Mammography/Bone Density and MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, or Radiology. Required to be a part of the on-call rota. Registration with the Allied Health Professions Council. Registration/ certification from accredited Diagnostic Imaging Program. Current ARRT/ CAMRT/DCRR or equivalent. Associates/Bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging with 12 years' post-graduate experience. Level 1 Modality (primary pathway). Single modality in one of the applicable Primary Pathways: X-ray, MRI, Nuclear Medicine with Zero two (0-2) years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Level 2 - Modality (primary pathway). Single modality in one of the applicable Primary Pathways: X-ray, MRI, Nuclear Medicine with two (2) or more years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certification from an accredited institution. Level 3 Modality (post-primary pathway) CAT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, Bone Densitometry. With two (2) or more years of post-graduate experience required with the applicable certifications from an accredited institution (based on jurisdiction) and actively rotating. IMAGING NURSE (Full Time) Some of these positions are being advertised prior to contract renewals with a view to attracting suitably qualified Bermudians, PRC Holders, Divorced Parent of a Bermudian Child or Non-Bermudian with a qualifying Bermudian connection. Registration with the Bermuda Nursing and Midwifery Council is mandatory. Prepares for and assists during various diagnostic procedures in Radiology, CAT scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Density and Cardiac Diagnostic Unit. Provides care and monitoring pre, peri and post procedure in the prep/recovery unit. This will include some management of sedated/anesthetized patients post procedure. Understands the pharmacology of medications administered in DI and CDU and recognizes special considerations related to drugs and contrast media procedures. Develops and manages inventory of supplies including pharmaceuticals, patient care and special procedure supplies. Utilizes Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging and Cardiac Diagnostic procedural knowledge to plan for patient care needs within the department and hospital environment. Provides pertinent health education and procedural teaching to all Diagnostic Imaging patients their immediate caregivers and professional colleagues as required, to optimize patient care. Five years (5) of experience as a Registered Nurse. Two years' experience as an Emergency/Critical Care Nurse, Three (3) additional years in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Two (2) years of experience in Intravenous (IV) Therapy, Required certifications: Critical Care Certificate, BLS, ACLS, IV therapy, Preferred certifications: PALS, PACU or, Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN).
