Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for managing a wide range of financial and management reporting requirements of the insurance company and specialty lines insurance managing general underwriting agency. The successful applicant will be a highly motivated newly qualified accountant with excellent inter-personal and organizational skills. Responsibility for timely and accurate reporting of the general & administrative (G&A) expenses and intercompany transactions; Preparation of monthly analytics of G&A expenses to support the overall FP&A function; Oversight of teams at a 3rd party service provider, including verifying the completeness and accuracy of financial information provided by these teams; Reviewing monthly working papers, and performing analytical review; Assisting with the preparation of US GAAP Financial Statements and Bermuda statutory reporting, including the BSCR; Ensuring compliance with SOX and internal controls; Assisting with internal and external audits; and Other ad-hoc projects as required. An internationally recognized accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA or CPA), Demonstrable experience of US GAAP and working knowledge of the Bermuda statutory requirements, including BSCR reporting; Experience and understanding of general ledger systems; Advanced computer literacy skills, particularly Microsoft suite of products; Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills with an ability to work and communicate with all levels of management together with a track record as a team player; A proven ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and respond to changing priorities.
