The Corporate Income Tax Agency Bermuda invites applications for the following positions in the Taxpayer Services & Compliance Division The Corporate Income Tax Agency (CITA) is a statutory body established under the Corporate Income Tax Agency Act 2024. CITA is responsible for administering the corporate income tax regime. Rewarding career opportunities are available within Taxpayer Services and Compliance. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for the following roles: Senior Manager, Taxpayer Services and Compliance The Senior Manager, Taxpayers Services and Compliance reports to the Managing Director Taxpayer Services and Compliance. The individual is responsible for directing CITA's operational functions through the provision of services in the areas of Taxpayer Relations including oversight of Support Services, Taxpayer Registrations, Return Processing and Return Payment, Compliance Risk Management, Audit and Compliance and Enforcement and Collections. The role involves planning, overseeing, and executing compliance activities, tax technology, audits and enforcement regarding filings and submissions to ensure accuracy, transparency and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. The successful individual must foster a high-performance and ethical culture. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Oversee the daily activity of Taxpayer Services and Compliance and lead, manage, guide and mentor the staff effectively Ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are developed and implemented Ensure the accurate collection and recording of tax receipts and maintenance of taxpayer data Develop annual operational plans, set targets, measure progress Establish the audit framework procedures, oversee the compliance risk management strategy, and develop an enforcement and collections programme Lead tax technological advances in the continued development of the tax administration system including indicators to show results and measure performance Required Qualifications and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, Law, or a related field A professional certification such as CA, CPA, CIA, ACCA or a postgraduate qualification (e.g. Master's degree) in a relevant discipline would be considered an asset Minimum 7 years' experience in tax compliance, project management, consulting, legal, data analytics, audit or a related field A sound knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management frameworks, and compliance methodologies Demonstrated strong knowledge of tax legislation, tax technology, audit principles and compliance procedures Manager, Taxpayer Services and Compliance The Manager, Taxpayer Services and Compliance reports to the Director of Taxpayer Services and Compliance and assists with directing CITA's operational functions within the Taxpayer Relations, Tax Audit and Compliance and Tax Enforcement and Collections teams. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the corporate tax registration process and the efficient receipt, validation and processing of corporate income tax returns and receipts and executing audit and compliance and enforcement functions in accordance with the Corporate Income Tax Act and related regulations. The Manager may be assigned to Tax Audit and Compliance, Taxpayer Relations, and Tax Enforcement and Collections. The successful individual must foster a high-performance and ethical culture. Manager, Taxpayer Services and Compliance continued Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Manage the daily activity of Taxpayer Services and Compliance and lead, manage, guide and mentor the staff effectively Ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are developed and implemented Assist with developing a series of indicators to measure performance Oversee teams in conducting reviews of financial records, returns and supporting documentation Review and maintain dashboards to monitor trends in taxpayer compliance and provide trend analysis on emerging compliance threats Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure that tax policies relating to the relevant taxes are understood Required Qualifications and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, Law, or a related field A professional certification such as CA, CPA, CIA, or ACCA or a postgraduate qualification (e.g. Master's degree) in a relevant discipline would be considered an asset A minimum of 5 years' experience in tax administration, audit, compliance, project management, consulting, legal or a related field Demonstrated experience in effectively managing teams and resolving complex compliance issues A proven track record of working with tax authorities, regulatory bodies or within large-scale tax, financial services or audit environments Business Analyst, Taxpayer Services and Compliance The Business Analyst, Taxpayer Services and Compliance reports to the Manager, Taxpayer Services and Compliance. This role supports the effective delivery of services to taxpayers in accordance with the Corporate Income Tax Act and related regulations. The Business Analyst is responsible for providing technical and administrative support in the corporate tax administration process. This position is also responsible for the efficient receipt, validation and processing of corporate income tax returns and receipts in addition to executing audit and compliance and enforcement functions in accordance with the Bermuda Corporate Income Tax Act and related regulations. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provide guidance to taxpayers and process taxpayer matters related to registration, filing, and compliance, audit and enforcement in accordance with the Corporate Income Tax Act Ensure the accurate and timely capture of taxpayer information Conduct reviews of financial records, returns and supporting documentation and ensure that findings are supported clearly and that audit reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner Required Qualifications and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, Law, Business Administration or a related discipline is required An MBA or master's degree in finance/economics and/or professional training or certification in tax administration, audit, compliance, project management, consulting, legal, audit, customer service or data management would be considered an asset A minimum of 3 years' experience in an audit and/or accounting, tax administration, data analytics, preferably within a financial, audit, or regulatory environment Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, business intelligence tools, and database systems
