Our client, Premia Reinsurance Ltd. is a Bermuda based Class 4 specialty reinsurance company focused on acquiring non-life run-off (re)insurance portfolios including acquiring companies in run-off worldwide. Premia currently has operations in Bermuda, the United States, Lloyd's of London and Continental Europe. We are currently hiring for the role of a Senior Investment Accountant. The successful applicant will report to the Group Head of Investment Reporting and Operations and will be tasked with supporting the function's roles and responsibilities at the company. Duties and Responsibilities: • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual investment accounting and supporting workbooks for US GAAP financial statements as well as Bermuda statutory reporting • Perform and continuously improve investment related controls, including preparing relevant analytics, cash and par reconciliations and completing market value testing • Manage the Current Expected Credit Losses ("CECL") assessment and reporting process with respect to the company's available-for-sale ("AFS') debt securities • Assist with the preparation of investment related management information, board reports and extemal presentations • Support and advise the Group Chief Investment Officer with regards to investment analysis and any required non-financial statement investment reporting requirements • Assist with the on-boarding of new business acquisitions and reinsurance transactions including the integration of acquired entities onto the Clearwater investment accounting platform as well as the implementation of new investment accounts Review and update of investments related internal controls and process documentation • Assist with the overall cash management and forecasting for the investment portfolio • Monitor group and trust environment level investment compliance requirements • Review and submit Investment/Treasury invoices for payment Liaise with internal and external parties in relation to investment matters • Manage the internal and external audit processes as appropriate • Participate in other ad hoc projects and analyses as required Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • A Bachelor's degree and a professional accounting designation (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience at a "Big 4" accounting firm in financial services and/or in the reinsurance, banking or investment management industries, preferably with experience specifically gained in investments • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Investment Reporting and Operations • Ability to handle a diverse and varied workload, work on ad-hoc projects as they arise and meet tight deadlines • Knowledge of the US GAAP and statutory accounting treatment for various investment categories and classifications • Working knowledge of the CECL accounting standard as well as hands-on experience modelling credit losses on AFS debt securities • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications with advanced skills in Excel Willingness and flexibility to work extended hours as required especially during quarter-end and year-end reporting • Experience with Clearwater Analytics, W-Desk, Great Plains and Moody's ImpairmentStudio • Experience in a multi-currency environment with specific focus on investment accounting and reporting matters • Knowledge and experience with the Bermuda regulatory requirements related to investment accounting and reporting

Requirements
