Warehouse Assistant

The BEST Group – a group of Bermudian companies providing services in the fleet, freight, logistics, shipping, trucking, and warehousing industries have an immediate vacancy for a Warehouse Assistant to join BEST Shipping Ltd. on a full-time basis. The Warehouse Assistant will assist with day-to-day warehouse operations which include unloading containers, reading labels and putting away goods to storage locations within the warehouse. The ideal candidate must hold a valid dock pass or be able to obtain a valid dock pass. Other responsibilities will include: - Assist manually and/or operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and containers - Assist with classification of goods and sorting according to designated storage areas within the warehouse. - Report any damages and submit supporting evidence to claims department. - Assist supervisor to manually pick goods from designated areas in the warehouse and issue to customers and/or load trucks for delivery. - Maintain warehouse cleanliness, accessibility and safety - Demonstrate and maintain professional, courteous, and respectful working relationships with colleagues and customers at all times.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) would be advantageous; the ideal candidate must hold a valid dock pass or be able to obtain a valid dock pass; physical requirements, the ideal candidate must be able to handle a variety of physical activities from sitting to standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching overhead and lifting from 10 to 120 pounds repeatedly. Work is primarily performed in an outdoor environment, and the ideal candidate will be exposed to changing weather conditions (temperature & humidity) while performing responsibilities.
