The BEST Group – a group of Bermudian companies providing services in the fleet, freight, logistics, shipping, trucking, and warehousing industries have an immediate vacancy for a truck driver to join Joe Vieira Trucking Ltd. on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate must hold a valid Heavy Truck License and a valid dock pass or be able to obtain a valid dock pass. You are expected to utilize a fleet of vehicles including light, intermediate and heavy trucks, crane trucks and forklifts to perform the following tasks: Operate trucks in a safe manner to transport and deliver cargo and materials. Securely load, deliver, and unload cargo and materials. Keep records of time, description of services and other paperwork required for every job including obtaining customer signatures and collecting payments for goods delivered. Unpack, assemble, and disassemble goods when required, wrap and pack goods for the export/relocations team when needed for relocations. Perform routine and basic safety inspections of the vehicles you are assigned to operate and to perform basic maintenance functions including but not limited to checking and maintaining all fluid levels, notify your manager of any maintenance or repairs needed. Cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles when required.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have a valid Heavy Truck License. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) would be advantageous. Must be able to obtain a valid dock pass. Previous driving experience, preferably in a delivery/loading/unloading warehouse role. Physical requirements: must be able to handle a variety of physical activities from sitting to standing, walking, climbing stairs, reaching overhead and lifting from 10 to 120 pounds repeatedly. Work is primarily performed in an outdoor environment, and the ideal candidate will be exposed to changing weather conditions (temperature & humidity) while performing responsibilities.
