Our client, Symetra Bermuda Re Ltd. (Symetra) provides reinsurance solutions to its affiliate, Symetra Life Insurance Company. Symetra are seeking to employ an AVP, Finance and Operations who will lead the finance and operations functions for the company including managing internal and external audits, internal controls, accounting policy, while also playing a fundamental role in profitability analysis, financial planning, and on boarding of reinsurance transactions.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. Certified Public Accountant or Chartered Accountant 3+ years big four accounting experience. 5+ years' experience specifically related to life and annuity reinsurance and Bermuda financial reporting, including responsibility for US GAAP, EBS and Statutory financial reporting and analysis, and delivery of regulatory filings. Experience with US Statutory reporting a strong plus. Experience in management of financial audits. Experience managing life and annuity financial reporting for side car entities. Highly effective communication skills, written and verbal, with a broad variety of audiences including senior management, board, auditors and regulators. Proven ability to work independently and manage major finance functions with remote teams. Ability to solve complex accounting problems independently. Ability to prioritize, organize, plan, and manage complex projects.
