Our client, Fergus Reinsurance Limited (Fergus Re), is a Class 3B company licensed and regulated by the BMA. The company’s capacity is provided by private investors seeking a long-term, conservative approach to insurance linked investment opportunities. Fergus Re targets reinsurance of high frequency, low severity casualty insurance program business, generally on a quota share basis or through loss portfolio transfers (LPT). Due to continued business growth, the company is looking to hire a Senior Underwriter, who will play an integral role in underwriting casualty business, within an entrepreneurial and highly successful company.

Requirements

The role is suited to an ambitious underwriter or broker, looking to assume greater responsibility for driving strategically focused, underwriting growth. - University or college degree in finance, economics, business, management or law. - At least 7 years of insurance/reinsurance industry experience in either a broking or underwriter capacity. - Strong preference for candidates with casualty reinsurance experience in the lines of business underwritten by the company. - At least 7 years of modeling/exposure management experience. - Excellent numeracy and analytical skills with experience in handling, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets. - Proven track record working within the US or International marketplace. - CPCU or ACII is required. - Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), along with strong negotiation and presentation skills. - Well-developed active listening, problem-solving mindset, and interpersonal skills for developing and strengthening broker and client relationships.
