Short Order Cook

The short order cook will prepare meals such as burgers, French Fries, and sandwiches at quick-service restaurants using industrial cooking equipment like deep fryers, grills, and microwaves to service mass-production of multiple menu items to meet consumer demand. The short order cook role will handle a high volume of customer orders and ensure that all food preparation areas are clean and sanitized at all times according to the Health and Safety code and regulations. Additionally, the role will require monitoring and reporting inventory requirements to management. Success in this role will be demonstrated by serving high quality food orders promptly while maintaining compliance with the highest sanitation, safety, and quality standards and working well with other team members and management.

Requirements

Prior experience with relevant tools and industrial cookware and ability to work in a food truck. Minimum 18 years of age. Prior on-the-job training experience is preferred. Able to stand for extended periods and moving handling ability of items weighing 50 pounds. Effective communication skills with a good temperament at all times including under pressure. Strong multi-tasking abilities. Able to prepare a wide variety of short order meals using the industrial cookware. High school diploma or equivalent. Evidence of health and safety, food handling certification/training. Availability to work shifts including: evenings, weekends and public holidays.
