Senior Compliance Officer Consultant

Expertise is retained by many employers to provide consulting services. We are looking for compliance professionals of the highest caliber to join our team of Interim Professionals. The successful candidate will take on variety of short and long term consulting projects with our clients. Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Assist the Head of Compliance in implementing frameworks for Beneficial Ownership, Corporate Governance, and Economic Substance. Research and develop policies and procedures for compliance with international tax obligations. • Assist in implementing compliance systems and tools, including Economic Substance Risk Tool and Case Management System. • Help with the process and questionnaire for annual monitoring by OECD and EU. • Conduct compliance training and industry outreach. • Review risk matrix data integrity and use analytics tools. • Update and revise inspection and supervisory manuals. • Develop and refine monitoring and inspection procedures. Track, analyze, and report on compliance trends, deficiencies, and corrective actions. • Prepare enforcement documents and assist in non-compliance investigations. Interpret legislative changes and their impact on compliance programs. • Support department-wide projects, including international compliance evaluations. • Provide input on recruitment, training, performance management, and other HR activities for the compliance team. Assist with executing the Economic Substance and other international tax-related compliance frameworks. • Conduct investigations and enforce compliance with the Economic Substance Act. Provide support for reporting to international bodies like the EU and the Global Forum on Harmful Tax Practices. Advise on emerging risks and develop strategies to address compliance issues. Perform and monitor on-site inspections and follow-up on non-compliance instances. Collaborate with external stakeholders on legislative changes and policy development. • Maintain statistical data on compliance outcomes for reporting purposes. Respond to queries from the business sector and internal/government departments. Support public outreach regarding compliance updates and legislation. Provide regular updates on compliance program efforts and the status of specific compliance activities. Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years' of relevant regulatory accounting experience obtained within Big Four. • Proven experience advising on relevant tax, economic substance and BMA regulatory frameworks. • Demonstrated experience in relevant compliance frameworks and risk assessment, as well as proven experience interpreting legislation and establishing compliance programs accordingly. Reporting experience in IFRS and GAAP. Bachelor's degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Business, Risk, or related field. • Self-starter with the ability to manage assignments with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with previous experience drafting proposed relevant programs. Proven experience engaging with stakeholders at all levels to facilitate change. Excellent analytical skills for diagnosing problems and formulating solutions. High level of professionalism and collaboration. Requirements
