Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Systems Architect will be responsible for architecting and supporting the company's suite of bespoke insurance systems. The successful candidate will be expected to work directly with the business to understand their business processes. By combining this process understanding with a mastery of systems development, the successful candidate will be expected to create innovative best of breed solutions that will enhance the business. Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Architecting bespoke tools and reports in support of Shelf Opco's business processes. Leading a team of internal and external developers. • Liaising with business users across all business units to thoroughly understand user requirements. Demonstrating a continual focus on long term effectiveness, simplicity of solutions, and appropriate controls. • Investigating, evaluating and making recommendations for improvements to current and new software. Effective documentation of relevant tools and reports in order to mitigate business risks. • Work with the infrastructure team to ensure the technology environments are properly supported, fit for purpose, and kept up to date. Minimum Qualifications, Skills & Experience: • Post-Secondary Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years' experience developing systems for the Insurance/Reinsurance industry. Must have a strong customer service mentality. At least 8 years' programming experience with Microsoft WPF technologies is needed; experience with .Net Core a plus. • Must have at least 5 years' SQL Server Database Development experience; Experience with large datasets and data warehouse experience is a plus. Must have demonstrated experience leading a team of developers. Must have demonstrated expertise of Microsoft SSRS; expertise in Microsoft PowerBI is a plus. • Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment. Willing to work significant overtime especially during busy periods, including weekends and public holidays.

Requirements
