Group Financial Controller

Setting technical accounting policies for the Group including Bermuda and UK subsidiaries. Oversee the preparation of the Group consolidated UK GAAP financial statements for the Bermuda holding company and Bermuda/UK subsidiaries. Responsible for the audit process for the Bermuda entities including ensuring effective operation of financial controls and managing the relationship with the external auditors. Run the Group audit process, setting timetables, leading audit calls, running debriefs and ensuring group templates are completed on schedule. Oversee the preparation of the monthly & quarterly management accounts & supporting documents for the Bermuda holding company and Bermuda/UK subsidiaries. Oversee the preparation of quarterly financial reporting packs for executive management and the group board. Review of investor reporting information and management information relating to the group and Bermuda/UK subsidiaries. Oversee the Group consolidation including consolidation adjustments and reports on consolidated results. Maintain and improve internal controls for the Bermuda entities. Responsible for the collection of data for capital returns and the calculation and monitoring of the capital position for the Group and subsidiaries. Oversee the preparation of Group cash flow projections. Act as SME for technical accounting requirements on Finance change projects. Play a leadership role across the Bermuda and UK Finance teams. Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent). Detailed knowledge of and experience of UK GAAP. Previous recent experience of consolidations under UK GAAP. Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience gained in an insurance/reinsurance environment or auditing insurance/reinsurance companies. Finance systems experience with Sun GL, Anaplan consolidation, Fluence, and Workiva, strongly preferred. Ability to work effectively as part of the broader finance team and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across different functions within the organisation. Ability and willingness to work extended working hours including weekends and public holidays as needed.
