Senior Financial Accountant

Manage relationships with banking partners and external asset manager. Oversee company liquidity and managing the company's weekly/ad-hoc claims payment and operating expense processes. Ensure asset liability matching (ALM) guideline adherence and manage FX risk exposure. Monitor investment portfolio performance and prepare quarterly accounting reconciliations for the investment portfolio. Manage the quarterly closing process and the financial forecast and planning processes (FP&A) for company costs and investments. Monitor and clear cash, investment and expense control accounts and report any accounting discrepancies or unresolved items. Maintain dashboards and tools to monitor investments, optimize liquidity and minimize FX risk exposure. Maintain and follow the internal control framework, including documentation requirements and suggest changes to achieve efficiencies where appropriate. Supervise and coach any direct reports and support them in reaching their full potential. Professional accounting designation such as CA, CPA or equivalent. Aminimum of five (5) years of relevant post-qualification experience with accounting and reporting in an international (re) insurance environment. Excellent knowledge of financial accounting under the IFRS reporting framework. Knowledge of P&C reinsurance business and the L&H Financial Solution business, investments and liquidity management would be considered an asset. Versatile in working with accounting and Microsoft software packages, including SAP, Excel, Power Query and Power Bl. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with a great attention to detail. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Willingness to work additional hours as needed to meet business objectives.
