As such, we are building increasingly efficient processes, making use of relevant technology. As our Property Claims Specialist you will handle claims related to our newly opened direct Property Insurance offering in Bermuda. You will report to the Claims Manager in Bermuda and play a key role in the development of this new book of business from a claims perspective while supporting Claims Specialists on other classes of business. This role is outcome-driven, and combines technical adjusting, account handling as well as commercial and relationship management skills.Essential responsibilities include:Handling claims from first notification of loss through to final settlement, including coverage analysis, investigation, evaluation, reserving, and resolution, ensuring alignment with established guidelines, service standards, and regulations.Proactively handling claims to achieve the best indemnity outcomes, balancing efficiency and effectiveness in claim resolution.Monitoring claims movements, providing advisory insights to the business regarding potential exposures.Supporting the attraction and retention of business by delivering exceptional claims service and contributing to Convex's reputation for service excellence.Ensuring great loss outcomes and reserve accuracy through direct intervention on large loss events where required, and identification of loss trends which may impact ranking, reserves or risk selection.Building and sustaining relationships with underwriters, brokers and clients and working collaboratively together in addition to liaison with actuaries and data teams internally on loss related matters.Contributing to the preparation of local claims reports and updates, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed on key developments.Assisting with the implementation of systems and the development of innovative technologies to enhance claims handling capabilities.Assimilating our purpose which enables us to deliver the best claims service experience to clients while meeting all regulatory requirements.Clearly advocating for client service as a brand differentiator and demonstrating behaviours that align to the Convex core values.Taking ownership of data gathering and sharing industry or event knowledge with relevant colleagues.Aligning to Convex's claims key performance indicators, governance frameworks, adhering to established procedures and processes.Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:Degree-level education, with Masters/Postgraduate credentials.CPCU or ACII qualification required.Proven track record and experience in specialty underwriting lines backed by in-depth technical claims expertise.A natural leader with the ability to combine strategic vision with operational excellence.Confident in fostering relationships across brokers and clients, and capable of guiding complex reinsurance efforts.Passionate about empowering local talent and contributing to Bermuda's insurance ecosystem growth.➤ The "Apply Now" Button: If visible, this link may redirect you to an external website (not BermudaJobFinder) which may require you to create an account.
