Trainee Tree Surgeon

Under supervision from a Foreman or Chargehand carries out to general duties associated with the maintenance and development of gardens, parks woodlands and trees. The successful applicant would be expected to have a demonstrated ability to carry out routine tree climbing and pruning tasks, understand and perform lowering, rigging and section felling, and maintain tools and equipment safely. Responsibilities also include conducting risk assessments and adhering to health and safety regulations related to arboriculture.

Requirements

Must have completed the Bermuda Secondary School Certificate (BSSC) or equivalent. A minimum of three (3) years working experience as a non Department Gardner/Tree Surgeon or two (2) years' on the job training while in the position of trainee tree surgeon and the basic grounding an understanding of arboricultural practices.
