Aspida Re Services Ltd. ("Aspida Re Services") is a Bermuda based service provider to Aspida Re Ltd. ("Aspida Re"), an affiliated and regulated Bermuda-domiciled Class E licensed (re)insurance company. Aspida Re provides annuity and life insurance companies with tailored risk management solutions, with a specialization in closed block and new business flow reinsurance of asset-intensive and interest rate-sensitive annuity and life insurance liabilities. Aspida Re Services has a dedicated team of 13 reinsurance professionals based in Hamilton, Bermuda responsible for reinsurance pricing, operations, and risk management. Aspida is backed by Ares Management Corporation, "Ares" (NYSE: ARES), which, through the Ares Insurance Solutions team, provides dedicated investment management, capital solutions and corporate development support. For more information, please visit aspidare.bm. Aspida Re Services, are looking to fill the position of Senior Actuary. This role will be central to our actuarial function, with a primary focus on rate setting, while also supporting a broad range of actuarial initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to pricing, model development, and cross-functional projects that enhance our actuarial capabilities. This position will report to the Deputy Chief Actuary. Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Assemble, review and validate pricing analysis input data for accuracy and completeness Perform detailed analyses to support recurrent rate setting meetings for existing flow reinsurance treaties in Bermuda, Cayman, and in the US • Develop, maintain, and enhance pricing models for both new and existing flow treaties Prepare and present pricing results to senior management, ensuring alignment with internal pricing policies and strategic objectives Enhance and document pricing models and methodologies, ensuring transparency and reproducibility across the team Contribute to cedent data management and data quality controls Support the development of quarterly plan projections Support quarterly actuarial valuation processes as needed • Lead or participate in experience studies and contribute to the development and refinement of actuarial assumptions • Monitor and evaluate assumptions to ensure they align with current and emerging experience trends • Lead or participate in ad hoc projects to support and improve actuarial processes Successful candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: • FSA or equivalent • Must have a bachelor's degree in mathematics, Actuarial Science, or other numerate discipline • A minimum of at least 8 years of similar actuarial experience • Experience with US GAAP, US Stat or Bermuda EBS or other equivalent jurisdictions (including Solvency II or Canadian standards) preferred • Proficiency with Moody's Axis or other actuarial modeling software is required Experience with data management in R, Python, or related languages is a plus • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, and business writing skills Why you're the one for us: • You exemplify grace under pressure and bring a good sense of humor to work • You are respectful and act with integrity • You ask questions to understand, but are confident enough to respectfully challenge in the name of producing the best possible product • You anticipate obstacles and are accountable for your commitments • You thrive on pushing the envelope and know failure is only an opportunity to learn
