Reporting to the CUO, Property, the Head of International Property is responsible for leading a team of Underwriters and for developing and managing a significant book of treaty business in Property Cat, QS and Risk across international markets. The role includes oversight of multiple jurisdictions with a focus on driving and expanding the International Property portfolio, and supporting the continued development of underwriting, analytics, and underwriting platform capabilities. The role will ensure profitability, disciplined underwriting, and alignment with overall corporate objectives.
Requirements
A relevant University Degree in Finance, Economics or a related quantitative discipline. An advanced degree preferred and/or a professional designation is preferred. 10 years of Reinsurance Property underwriting experience, with significant international exposure. Proven ability to market to senior individuals in the industry and record of successfully growing a book of business on a profitable basis. Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing, training and mentoring underwriters and support staff. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with management at a senior level. Demonstrated analytical and decision-making capabilities. Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus. Extensive travel is expected for this position and ability to work extended hours as business needs require.
